Testing Dissolving pulp is a highly specialized
area of pulp manufacture and end use. Econotech
holds the unique position of being the worlds only independent
organization with a fully equipped laboratory for evaluation
of dissolving pulp for viscose, acetate, CMC and nitrocellulose
applications. Econotech was originally the R&D center for Columbia Cellulose,
a manufacturer of dissolving pulp, but has been a completely
independent lab since 1972.
The scope of our work covers:
-
-
pulping process simulation (sulfite
and prehydrolysis kraft)
-
bleaching simulations, including chlorine
free
-
small-scale end-use product testing
of viscose, acetate, ethers and nitrocellulose
-
mill process design
-
environmental impact and pollution
control
-
analytical testing
-
yarn defects analysis
